Hello,everyone,

I believe that there are a lot of mold worker do not understand how to calculate the die blanking force. Today we will discuss “blanking force” calculation in the hardware mold design, I hope you will have some help.

First of all, I would like to ask you a question: what is blanking force? Yes, blanking force refers to the maximum resistance of the material to the mold during blanking. There are many reasons that affect the blanking force in the work, but the two main reasons that affect the blanking force most are: the shear strength and tensile strength of the material. The harder the material is, the higher the tensile strength and shear strength. The following figure shows the tensile strength and shear strength of some materials:

When we know the tensile strength and shear strength of materials, it is easy to calculate their blanking force. Let’s take a look at this picture:

The above picture is the calculation method of blanking force. However, in the actual value, need to consider the safety factor K separately (K usually takes 1.3). That is to say, the actual value of the above blanking force is :1.3* P=877.5 Kgf.

The above is the specific method of calculating the blanking force of the die in the design stage of our company. In the following article, there will be more subsequent articles about Experience sharing of designing the hardware die

Please continue to pay attention to us, and exchanges more, thank you!
